POLYETHYLENE (PE)

Polyethylene (PE) is a type of polyolefin film. It is the most produced plastic in the world. Polyethylene can be processed into soft and flexible as well as into tough, hard and strong products.

There are three main types of PE:

• Low Density Polyethylene (LDPE): a soft, tough and flexible. It is used for strong and flexible items, like packaging material, squeezable bottles.
• High Density Polyethylene (HDPE): a much stiffer, sturdiest type. It is more puncture resistant as well. It is used for household cleaners, drum labels, transportation labels.
• LLDPE: a mixture of both previous-mentioned types. Both flexible and sturdy products are made from it. It is used to make large items, like covers, storage bins.

Polyethylene is one of the most environment-friendly materials, since:

• It is an efficient raw material. The manufacturing of it is relatively clean
• Polyethylene is extremely suitable for recycling
• If polyethylene cannot be processed again, it supplies high-quality fuel for power supply.

PE films are often used in applications such as shampoo and cosmetics containers where squeezability is required. Polyethylene labels are strong, durable and possess excellent resistance characteristics that can meet a wide range of application requirements, such as water, weather resistant labels, product, bottle labels, automotive labels etc.

POLYETHYLENE TEREPHTHALATE (PET)

PET or polyethylene terephthalate film is a thermoplastic polymer commonly referred to as polyester film. PET is a strong but lightweight form of clear polyester.

It is most often used to make bottles for water, juices and other containers. Polyester is an excellent choice as a label materials due to it clarity, stability, ease of printing and long life span. PET’s major advantages are the strength of the material and that is fully recyclable. It also provides excellent outdoor durability, chemical and heat resistance, dimensional stability and high tensile strength.

PET labels are the ideal choice when resistance to water, oil or chemicals is important.
